I.B.3

From Li & Liao (2017)

I.B.3 is a periodic orbit of the planar three-body problem: three equal masses that return to their starting positions and velocities every 10.465 time units, published by Li & Liao (2017). Class I.B orbits, for equal and unequal masses. It is unstable (largest Floquet multiplier 20.67), so a small nudge makes it unravel over a few periods. The bodies pass within 0.0185 of each other at a top speed of 7.49, line up 28 times a period, and the computed loop closes to 7.9×10⁻²⁹.
